Being A Master Of Visualization
Being A Master Of Visualization

If you expect to achieve your goals, if you expect to reach your potential, if you expect to have your dreams come true, you MUST BECOME A MASTER AT VISUALIZATION.

Visualization is an extraordinarily powerful skill. You may have heard of the word “visualization”, you may have heard of the “Law of Attraction”, you may have heard of the word “manifesting”.

Your brain has a network of neurons called the reticular activating system, which is basically a filter system, that allows certain information in your brain, and it blocks out other information.

Who is the programmer this filter? You are, and so are the people and circumstances from your past.

How does this filter work?

Let us assume that you constantly feel that you are unlovable, the reticular activating system is going through the day and it is going to point out every single piece of evidence that confirms the negative belief that you have.

If you think that your colleagues do not like you, the reticular activating system is constantly looking for evidence to confirm that belief, all day long!

Why do we have a reticular activating system? If your brain let in everything, it would melt down. Consequently, the reticular activating system protects your brain by filtering information and only letting in stuff that it agrees with.

This is the reason why to manifest the life you want, you must reprogram this filter.

Visualisation is a great tool that allows you to reprogram the reticular activating system in your brain, so that your brain starts to spot opportunity; your brain starts to spot evidence that things are working out; your brain starts to spot coincidences, so you can build momentum.

All of this begins with visualisation.

Write down your goals, go through each one in your list, and do this visualisation exercise. This is absolutely based on science, so it needs to be done in a particular way, it is a two-step method.

If for example, your goal is to improve your self-worth, you to visualize what your life looks like and how you are going to feel about yourself when your self-worth has improved.

There are two things that you have to do when it comes to visualization:-

Step 1 – close your eyes, and in your mind have a specific picture of what it looks like in your life when your self-worth has improved. See yourself speaking up at work, see yourself talking passionately about your business, see yourself leaving negative relationships, see yourself defining boundaries, see yourself going to the gym, see yourself eating healthy food and taking care of yourself.

Step 2 – When you start to visualize, consciously create the positive emotions that you would feel in those situations.

“I am going to feel happy”

“I am going to feel proud”

“I am going to stand taller”

“I am going to be so grateful that I made this change”

Mirror the specific picture that you create of yourself: there I am talking to my colleagues, there I am asking for a raise, there I am signing up another customer to my business, there I am developing my skills by taking part in a course. I feel so good about myself!

When you do that, here is what is actually happening in your brain: you are training your brain to have a totally different filter.

Your brain, my brain, it does not know the difference between something that happened to you and
the things you imagine that are happening to you.

Your brain does not know the difference between the bad things that actually happened to you, the real memories that you have, and an imagined memory that you are creating.

This is science.

Your brain will experience you visualizing, you going to the gym, you visualizing how happy you feel when you do, you visualizing asking for that raise and you getting it, and how proud you are going to feel.

Your brain, when you visualize, it encodes it as a real memory. When this happens, it changes the filter system, the reticular activating system.

Research has found that the more you visualize things, the greater your confidence is going to be, the greater security you are going to have about it.

You can do this in the morning after waking up, visualize having a great day, visualize you are killing your panic, or giving a great speech and how proud you are going to be.

Studies have proven that simply visualizing yourself doing things actually develops the skill and helps you improve the skills, just as if you were actually doing it! Therefore, there is proof based on research that visualization helps you build skills.

The more you do this, the more you start to believe what you imagine. You are in fact reprogramming your brain. You are changing the network of neurons that acts as a filter.

The more you start believing in yourself, you start thinking and visualizing doing things you want to achieve, the more confident you are going to become, the more skills that you are building, and you are actually going to do it!

Instead of looking for all the reasons for not speak up in a meeting, you are now going to speak up, you are going to look for opportunities, because you have changed the filter.

On day 1 of this exercise, you go through all the goals that you have set, and every single day, through the next 30 days, you are going to close your eyes and spend at least 30 seconds visualizing what is looks like in your life when you have achieved your goals. How does it feel to achieve every single goal on your list?

How does it feel to go into your bank account and see that balance?

How does it feel to be able to take your family on holiday?

How does it feel to be able to write your own plays or put down payment for that house you have always dreamed of?

How does it feel to be able to have saved enough money so you can quit the job that you hate and launch your own business?

It feels great! That is how it feels.

So just savour that because what you are doing when you visualize, is you are reprogramming your reticular activating system, that system of neurons, that network that acts like a filter in your brain and it is spotting opportunity, is helping you to see evidence that you are confident, that you are capable, that you can do this.
