Reiki Ho

Modern scientific studies have proved that everything in this Universe consists of vibrations. Such vibrations surround us and we all are vibrations. Reiki is one of the vibrations that fills the Universe. From long ago, people have been aware of the higher form of vibration that heals illness and gives us peacefulness. It is called Reiki.

The Universe is the only source for everything to exist in harmony; you can call it the Great Life Force, Dai Komyo, or Something Great. Reiki is the energy that creates the material universe, its atmosphere, all the planets in the solar system, all that lives on the earth; it establishes them in an orderly manner, to support their evolutions. Everything comes from that energy.

Reiki energy fills the Universe, and it serves us as life force energy in our body to give us a natural healing ability, immunity to resist illness, and powerful energy to live our life positively. This is why Reiki in the Universe is called the energy of love, harmony, and healing. Love enables all things to live, grow and prosper, harmony lets all things coexist in an orderly manner, and healing actualises when we all resonate with the Universe. We humans are regarded as microcosms that are part of the Universe, and we are able to live and exist by vibrating with the Universe. Reiki, the energy of love, connects us with the Universe.

Gendai Reiki Ho

Gendai Reiki Ho has a goal to heal the mind and body and improve spirituality. Gendai Reiki Ho has been recognised widely throughout Japan and the world. It is a simple and practical Reiki method that can be used on a daily basis to fully enjoy its benefits. Gendai Reiki Ho is not a new Reiki system. It can also be referred to as “Usui Reiki Ryoho in the Gendai Reiki style,” as it allows people in modern society to practice the original Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho easily and comfortably.

Gendai Reiki Ho has two advantages: the logical approach and effectiveness of Western Reiki that has been widely accepted worldwide, and Usui Sensei’s focus on developing high spirituality and happiness.

Reiki, as pure light, fills the atmosphere around us. To fully enjoy its benefits, we need to improve our spirituality and always resonate with Reiki. Gendai Reiki Ho shows us how to do so. The goal is to naturally resonate with Reiki without even thinking about it, through the purposeful practice of Reiki sessions, daily self-treatment, self-purification exercises, and various techniques for personal growth. When everything in your life resonates with Reiki, you will achieve a truly peaceful and healthy life.

The Origin of Usui Reiki Ryoho, the Original Japanese Usui Reiki

Reiki Ho was originally founded by Mikao Usui, who was born in 1865, as Usui Reiki Ryoho (Ryoho means a treatment or therapy). He left his hometown, Gifu Prefecture, when he was young and had many different jobs. He then started thinking deeply about the true meaning of life.

After a long quest, he reached the conclusion that the goal of life was to obtain Anshin Ritsumei (安心立命、Spiritual Peacefulness). What is Anshin Ritsumei? It is to know the truth that the Universe gives us a life with a lifelong mission.

In 1922, Mikao Usui experienced Anshin Ritsumei while meditating on Mount Kurama, Japan. Usui Sensei knew intuitively that the vibration he resonated with was the Reiki that he had heard of from long ago, and understood that Reiki is a vibration in the Universe that will guide us to a healthy and happy life.

He named it Usui Reiki Ryoho and established the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai in Tokyo in April 1922 to teach it to as many people as possible. The Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai still exists to this day, to share Usui Sensei’s teachings continuously. Usui Reiki Ryoho is now called the original Japanese Usui Reiki.

The original Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho has changed little by little from the way it was as it was introduced to Hawaii, to the mainland United States, and then to the world. Western Reiki with many different philosophies and techniques was introduced to Japan around the end of the 1980s. Both the original Japanese Usui Reiki and Western Reiki have excellent features.

In the original Japanese Usui Reiki, it is considered that negative energy causes illness. A practitioner begins a Reiki session looking for negative energy and sends Reiki to eliminate it. Subsequently, the practitioner will use Reiki to enhance spirituality so you will not resonate with negative energy again. Furthermore, you will continue improving your vibration to achieve a peaceful and abundant life.

Western Reiki has a philosophy to work with modern medicine as complementary medicine, and it has been effective in improving the patient’s mind and body.

Hiroshi Doi

Hiroshi Doi Sensei born in Okayama, Japan in 1935, is a founder of Gendai Reiki Ho. After learning countless healing modalities, he learned the Western Reiki in 1993 and the original Japanese Usui Reiki systems, immediately recognising its profound effectiveness. That same year, he joined the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, receiving attunements from Kimiko Koyama, the sixth president of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai. From that moment, Hiroshi Doi was able to directly perceive the profound spirituality emanating from Usui Sensei.

He deepened his study and practice of both Reiki methods, and developed Gendai Reiki Ho, which combines the techniques from Western Reiki and the deep spiritual aspects and the truth of life from Japanese Usui Reiki.

Hiroshi Doi is a member of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, the original Association started by the founder of Usui Reiki, Usui Sensei. The first four presidents of the Gakkai after Usui Sensei were trained by him and the last of the four was president through 1975, making the training and the information taught to Gakkai members and contained in their archives the most authentic available today. Hiroshi Doi is the president of Gendai Reiki Healing Association (GRHA).

“The five characteristics of Reiki-ho mentioned are only part of the story. The real quality of Reiki-ho is not that easy to set out in words. If you do not understand the depth or Reiki-ho, you might get the wrong idea – that it is just a teaching that does not required any effort to learn more about beyond the initial class or a technique that merely develops and satisfies some egoistic purpose that makes us arrogant and proud.

This kind of attitude is far from the truth about the use of Reiki-ho, and there would be no need to even state this because the essence of Reiki-ho cannot be defined only as the development of healing ability. It must be used for self-purifying and self-growth to complete “the necessary lesson” all day and every day.“

Hiroshi Doi – A Modern Reiki Method For Healing

Gendai Reiki Ho is a Reiki system that can be practiced with ease in everyday life based on Usui Sensei’s philosophy and rationale from Western Reiki. It is neither a new system nor a new Reiki Ryoho, but a new practice method of Usui Reiki Ryoho, and many people have already proved it to be effective.

Reiki is a healing method using Reiki, and ‘to be healed’ means to go back to its original, healthy state. Not just the body, but also mind and soul are all in a healthy state.

When we look at Gendai Reiki from two sides: energy and application, the energy comes through Usui Sensei’s Usui Reiki Ryoho, and the techniques come from both Usui Reiki Ryoho and Western Reiki. However, it is not just a combination. Gendai Reiki incorporates some techniques from other non-Reiki practices so that it will be effective for mind-body healing and spiritual growth for both the practitioner and the client.

Gendai Reiki is structured in 4 levels:

• Level I Shoden
• Level I Okuden
• Level III Shinpiden
• Level IV Gokuikaiden (Master)

Students receive authentic and individual in-person Gendai Reiki attunements.

The Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma is the highest professional recognition for Reiki practitioners in the United Kingdom. Qualified students will be eligible to apply to the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council and receive the CNHC Quality Mark. Those who complete the course will be competent to practice Reiki in all settings i.e. private practice, in organisations and care homes including NHS establishments.

The Diploma is structured in 4 in-person modules, and includes the traditional Gendai Reiki Level 1 Shoden and Gendai Reiki Level 2 Okuden courses. It is designed to empower Reiki students to develop through personal growth and self-development. It offers the potential for periods of pause to enable self-reflection, facilitating the emotional and spiritual development of the student. Integral to this Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma course is a comprehensive self-healing and personal-growth programme.

It combines Japanese and western Reiki approaches, metaphysical principles and esoteric traditions to provide an integrated perspective on wellbeing, health and healing.

In the original Japanese Usui Reiki, it is considered that negative energy causes illness. Blockages or distortions at the energetic level are therefore reflected in every aspect of our lives, creating fears, unwanted emotional reactions, a false perception of reality, harmful relational experiences and physical pathologies. Often, these energetic alterations also lead to the blocking of creative energy.

A practitioner begins a Reiki session looking for negative energy and sends Reiki to eliminate it. Subsequently, the practitioner will use Reiki to enhance spirituality so you will not resonate with negative energy again. Furthermore, you will continue improving your vibration to achieve a peaceful and abundant life.

The method of receiving an in-person Reiki treatment from a practitioner is simple. The recipient remains clothed and comfortably lies on a couch or sits on a chair. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively, on or near the body using their intuition and training as a guide. At times with your consent I may use physical contact, and at other times I may work with the energy fields away from your body. Everything you share is confidential.

My work is intended to be in harmony with any other healing work. Regular sessions promote the consistent and unlocked flow of energy throughout the body, bringing the mind, body, and emotions into attunement with the soul, and restoring balance within the system.

Students of all my Gendai Reiki courses receive support through a combination of online and in-person sessions.

Practicing and living Reiki involves the kinship of like-minded people that are excited to share the love of Reiki. Being part of a network of Reiki Practitioners and healers can inspire, motivate, and support you through challenges and improve your self-esteem. These sessions are open to all my Reiki students to provide them with an opportunity to practice and expand their skills, abilities and knowledge in a safe and protected environment.

Ongoing learning and practice is a proven way of ensuring that Reiki practitioners have all the support they need whilst working with clients. It offers a calm spacious atmosphere in which to reflect upon sessions with clients, issues around the work, organisational factors, on-going learning and self-care.

Students who wish to move forward in their Reiki training should ensure consistent progress and engagement with the Reiki discipline and its practice.

All students taking part in in-person sessions will receive Reiju.
