Gendai Reiki Ho

Recognised globally and across Japan, Gendai Reiki Ho is a practical, everyday approach to Reiki designed to seamlessly fit into modern life. Rather than being an entirely new system, it is best understood as “Usui Reiki Ryoho adapted for the modern world”—making the traditional Japanese practice accessible and comfortable for everyone.

Gendai Reiki Ho aims to heal the mind and body while elevating spiritual well-being. It uniquely bridges two worlds: the structured, effective approach of Western Reiki and Mikao Usui’s original focus on spiritual growth and true happiness. In this practice, “healing” means returning the body, mind, and soul to their natural, harmonious state.

 

Course Structure & Progression

Students receive authentic, individual, in-person attunements across four distinct levels:

• Level I: Shoden (Beginner)
• Level II: Okuden (Intermediate)
• Level III: Shinpiden (Advanced)
• Level IV: Gokuikaiden (Master)

To ensure a strong foundation, all participants start at Level I, regardless of their past experience. Because student growth is supported at every step, higher levels are not scheduled publicly. This page only lists dates for Level I; subsequent levels are arranged individually once you feel ready and have dedicated time to your personal practice.

This two-day beginner course marks the start of your Reiki journey. Through a series of three energy transmissions (attunements), you will open your internal channel, allowing you to connect to Reiki energy whenever you choose. The seminar covers both fundamental theory and practical healing techniques

 

In this in-person course, you will learn:

You will receive three authentic and individual Gendai Reiki Level I Shoden attunements which will align you to the Reiki energy and enable you to channel Reiki for life.

 

Entry requirements

While this is a beginner-level course with no formal prerequisites, the final selection process includes a Zoom interview for all potential students.

GENDAI REIKI HO LEVEL I SHODEN COURSE DATES

UNITED KINGDOM

Gendai Reiki Level II focuses on deepening your self-healing, purification, and practitioner skills. You will master techniques developed by Mikao Usui to accelerate the healing process and receive the first three sacred symbols to support your growth.

This level is a pivotal step in strengthening your connection to Reiki, guiding you toward Anshin Ritsumei (spiritual fulfillment). By utilising symbols and Kotodamas, you will learn to channel energy with versatile precision—focusing it on specific points, harmonising emotions, and performing distance healing that transcends time and space.

 

During this in-person course, you will cover:

• The Power of Symbols: Deepen your understanding of the various symbols, their specific meanings, and their practical purposes.
• Diverse Healing Applications: Explore different types of Reiki sessions, including comprehensive protocols for treating others.
• Transcending Time & Space: Master the art of distant healing and learn to channel Reiki across the past, present, and future.
• Traditional Japanese Usui Techniques: Learn authentic methods such as Tanden, Navel, and Propensity treatments.
• Personal Growth & Purification: Practice self-development exercises, including Gendai Reiki Hatsurei Ho, Cell-Energising techniques, and dedicated self-purification methods.

You will receive three authentic, individual Gendai Reiki Level II Okuden attunements. These sacred initiations will significantly amplify your energy, provide you with the three Level II symbols, and greatly enhance your overall healing capacity.

The third level facilitates a transformative shift in the journey toward self-realisation. Practitioners deepen their connection to their spiritual essence through specialised Reiki-enhanced meditations, visualisations, and breathwork. During this stage, you will receive the fourth and final symbol, ultimately learning to transcend the need for symbols altogether.

• Mastery of the Fourth Symbol: Understanding the profound meaning and application of the final symbol.
• Inner Radiance: Self-purification through Light-based techniques.
• Spiritual Connection: Connecting with your Higher Self and accessing higher states of consciousness.
• Path to Mastery: Moving beyond symbols toward the state of Anshin Ritsumei (spiritual peace).
• Traditional Japanese Methods: Specialised Usui techniques, including Spinal Cord Purification Breathing and Solar Energy training.

You will receive three authentic and individual Gendai Reiki Level III Shinpiden attunements which will allow you to significantly increase your energy, receive the Reiki Master Symbol and enhance your healing abilities.

The 3-day Gendai Reiki Master Class

Level IV constitutes the definitive stage of instruction in Reiki-ho. This course imparts the integrated attunement, which incorporates all four primary symbols.

The Reiki Master program is fundamentally an instructional training curriculum rather than a superior rank of practice. It is designed to equip candidates with the pedagogical methodologies required to teach all proficiency levels.

Graduates of this curriculum are formally designated as Reiki Masters or Reiki Instructors.

To qualify for this title, candidates must acquire comprehensive knowledge of attunement modalities and advanced techniques. Most importantly, they must internalise the core philosophy and spiritual intent of Usui Sensei, the founder of the Usui Reiki Ryoho lineage.

Upon successful completion of this program, graduates will have acquired proficiency in:

• The theoretical framework and practical execution of attunements.
• The professional standards, conduct, and daily practice of a Reiki Master.
• The deep understanding and utilisation of core symbols and Kotodamas.
• Instructional capabilities for all training levels within the Gendai Reiki Ho system.
• The logistical and pedagogical preparation required for running seminars.
• Giho of Dento Reiki.
• Reiju (Japanese attunement).
• The integrated synthesis attunement utilising all symbols for the new Reiki Master.
• Self-Cleansing and Self-Actualisation Practices:
• Gendai Reiki Hatsurei Ho
• Self-purification practice (Jiko Joka)
• Cellular revitalisation exercises

An integration attunement will be conferred upon the participant during this Reiki Master course.

The Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma represents the highest level of professional recognition for Reiki practitioners in the UK. Graduates qualify to register with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and earn the recognised CNHC Quality Mark. This qualification equips students to practice confidently across all sectors, including private practices, care facilities, and NHS environments.

Delivered across four in-person modules, the diploma incorporates both the traditional Gendai Reiki Level 1 (Shoden) and Level 2 (Okuden) courses. The curriculum is deeply rooted in personal growth, providing intentional periods of pause to encourage self-reflection and support each student’s emotional and spiritual evolution. A comprehensive self-healing and personal development program is foundational to the entire course.
