Shoden (Reiki 1)

Reiki was originally established as “Usui Reiki Ryoho” (meaning “Usui Reiki Healing Method”) by Mikao Usui in 1922 as “the way to make mind and body healthy on the basis of the Universal Reiki“. This tradition evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication. It is a tradition that is open to any belief system and benefits may include deep relaxation and the promotion of a calm peaceful sense of well-being. Usui Reiki Ryoho has spread worldwide as a complementary therapy for modern medicine. More people are using Reiki to make their lives happier and healthier.

Gendai Reiki Ho is not a new Reiki system. It can be referred to as “original Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho in the Gendai Reiki style,” as it allows people in modern society to learn and practice the original Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho easily and comfortably.

Hiroshi Doi, Sensei (Founder of Gendai Reiki Ho and member of Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai) developed Gendai Reiki Ho to honor Usui Sensei’s wishes that Usui Reiki be shared with the World. Gendai Reiki is taught in four levels, Shoden, Okuden, Shinpiden and Gokuikaiden.

Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, meaning “Usui Reiki Healing Method Learning Society”, is the name of the society of Reiki Masters founded by Mikao Usui. Though many of their teachings still remain secret, Sensei Hiroshi Doi, a member of the Gakkai shares Usui Reiki knowledge with the rest of the world through Gendai Reiki Ho.

 

In this in-person course, you will learn:

• How Reiki originated and evolved over the past one hundred years.
• What energy is and how to feel the flow of Reiki.
• Sensing your own energy and the energy of other people.
• Have an understanding of how energy works and acquiring healing abilities.
• The Japanese Reiki techniques.
• Hand positions to give yourself Reiki treatments.
• Use the 12 basic hand positions to treat others.
• The importance of Self-healing, Self-purifying and Self-Growth.
• Reiki as a spiritual practice.

You will receive three authentic and individual Gendai Reiki Level I Shoden attunements which will align you to the Reiki energy and enable you to channel Reiki for life.

This is a two-day in-person course.

This is a beginner course and there are no entry requirements.

Teacher

This training is lead by Giancarlo Serra in English.

Giancarlo trained with Hiroshi Doi, founder of the Gendai Reiki system and president of the Gendai Reiki Healing Association. He completed the Gendai Reiki Master Special training in Osaka, Japan.

 

Lineage

 

Applicants with psychic abilities:

Healing often opens people to abilities in intuitive areas, and we often have many applicants who state that they have psychic or mediumistic abilities. We must emphasise the importance of keeping healing separate from psychic or mediumistic readings.

• Connecting psychically to medical problems: it is illegal for the student to tell clients they have sensed something on a medical level.
• Giving readings or messages during healing sessions: this is unacceptable on this Reiki course as the student will not be qualified or insured for this. It is also important to remember that many clients find psychic or mediumistic readings beyond their beliefs and interests.
• Combining mediumistic and psychic readings with healing when qualified: if after accreditation a student wishes to develop their own healing practice combining healing with a psychic or mediumistic reading, they may practise in this way as long as they are fully and appropriately insured and they name the session appropriately, eg Healing with Psychic Reading and explain clearly what this entails to their client before the consultation.

 

After completing this course you will be able to:

• Take a Gendai Reiki Ho Level II Okuden class after at least 2 months of practice (see the requirements in the Reiki Practitioner Expansion webpage).
• Become an Associate Member of the UK Reiki Federation.
• Become a Practitioner Member of the Gendai Reiki Network.
• Receive ongoing support via online and in-person sessions of the Reiki Practitioner Expansion.

 

Gendai Reiki Ho Training – Student Progression through each Level

Students who wish to move forward in their Reiki training should regularly attending Reiki Practitioner Expansion sessions (a minimum of one session per month), to ensure consistent progress and engagement with the Reiki discipline and its practice.

 

Cost

The tutor fee for the training, supervision and certification is £200 (Deposit £60).

 

International Accreditation

This Gendai Reiki Level I Shoden training has been verified and approved against the current recommended training standards for Professional Reiki Training as specified by the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council. All assessments and verifications have been conducted by qualified Assessors and Verifiers of the UK Reiki Federation.
