REIKI TREATMENTS AND REMOTE HEALING SESSIONS

REIKI - A COMPLEMENTARY THERAPY

Complementary Healthcare

Complementary healthcare is a term used to describe therapies or healthcare approaches that are used in addition to, or alongside, conventional care. Common uses of complementary healthcare include improving quality of life for those living with chronic conditions or in palliative care; post-surgical care; and helping anxious patients to complete orthodox treatments and procedures that have unpleasant side effects, including chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

People with chronic or life-limiting conditions such as multiple sclerosis, mental health problems (i.e. mild depression and anxiety), weight problems, musculoskeletal problems, or a history of substance misuse (including alcohol and drugs), can be greatly supported using complementary healthcare alongside conventional care.

Reiki

“Reiki” (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘universal life energy’, a term used to describe a natural system to help bring about an improved sense of wellbeing and a positive feeling of spiritual renewal. This tradition was founded by Dr Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication. It is a tradition that is open to any belief system and benefits may include deep relaxation and the promotion of a calm peaceful sense of wellbeing.

The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a practitioner is simple. The recipient remains clothed and comfortably lies on a couch or sits on a chair. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively, on or near the body using their intuition and training as a guide. There is no massage or manipulation. Reiki can be used on the person as a whole, or on specific parts of the body. It is also possible to receive Reiki at a distance.

Reiki is taught by Reiki Master/Teachers, who have trained in the tradition passed on, in person, from Master to student. Students go through a process of initiation/attunement to the Reiki energy. They are then able to treat themselves and others, not only from a personal and emotional perspective, but also as an aid to individual development and spiritual growth.

REIKI TREATMENTS - THE PROCESS

First Contact

I will ask you to read and sign the Client Information and Consent for Healing and to fill out a form. We will then book an initial consultation.

We could chose to work in-person, remotely, or a combination of the two approaches.

Initial consultation

I will explain fully all the procedures involved in the treatments, including such matters as client records, likely content and length of consultations, likely number of consultations, fees, etc.

We will discuss the information in this form and explore your current concerns and needs.

I will make a baseline assessment and provide you with personalised treatment plan.

Follow-up treatments

The number of treatments needed depends on what is being treated. More serious health concerns may require a course of weekly treatments.

Recommendations are given during your initial consultation.

IN-PERSON REIKI TREATMENTS

Modern scientific studies have proved that everything in this Universe consists of vibrations. Such vibrations surround us and we all are vibrations. Reiki is one of the vibrations that fills the Universe.

In the original Japanese Usui Reiki, it is considered that negative energy causes illness. A practitioner begins a Reiki session looking for negative energy and sends Reiki to eliminate it. Subsequently, the practitioner will use Reiki to enhance spirituality so you will not resonate with negative energy again. Furthermore, you will continue improving your vibration to achieve a peaceful and abundant life.

What happens during a Reiki Treatment

The method of receiving an in-person Reiki treatment from a practitioner is simple. The receiver remains clothed and comfortably lies on a couch or sits on a chair. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively, on or near the body using their intuition and training as a guide. At times with your consent I may use physical contact, and at other times I may work with the energy fields away from your body.

You are always in charge of the session. It is not unusual for a person receiving healing to fall asleep or go into a meditative state during the session. Snoring is always welcomed because when the body is in this relaxed state, it is better able to work on repairing itself.

If you are comfortable with closing your eyes during the session, you are strongly encouraged so that a deeper relaxation may occur. Throughout the session, I typically remain silent, allowing you to deeply relax into the treatment.

During a Reiki treatment you may feel waves of subtle energy gently moving through your body, you may experience heat or coolness from my hands and perhaps even see comforting colours or visions. While these are normal responses, it is also completely common to feel nothing during the session, but still be left with a sense of deep relaxation, overall wellbeing and inner peace. What is important to remember is that Reiki healing works on all levels, so even though there might not be a physical sensation, the energy could be working on a deep emotional or spiritual level.

My work is intended to be in harmony with any other healing work. Regular sessions promote the consistent and unlocked flow of energy throughout the body, bringing the mind, body, and emotions into attunement with our Essence, and restoring balance within the system.

REMOTE HEALING SESSIONS

Distant or Absent Healing is a way of sending healing energy to a person who, for whatever reason, cannot attend a healing session in person. The healing energy is therefore ‘sent’ to that person, no matter where they are in the world in relation to the healer.

It is an established healing method in both the Spiritual Healing and Reiki traditions and can be as effective as an in-person healing session. The energy is sent to the client by the healer, who will focus on the client and connect with their energy through the power of intention.

The healing practitioner can adjust and direct energies to remove the causes of disturbances in the subtle-energy field once they are in touch and well connected with the field and able to feel the subtle energies surrounding the recipient. Through our common connection within the field, this can be done from anywhere, to anywhere.

Healing is a process, a movement and work toward wholeness. Any alteration or weakening of the energy field is directly related to our state of health from a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual point of view. Blockages or distortions at the energetic level are therefore reflected in every aspect of our lives, creating fears, unwanted emotional reactions, a false perception of reality, harmful relational experiences and physical pathologies. Often, these energetic alterations also lead to the blocking of creative energy.

The techniques used in remote healing session balance, clear, and charge your energy system. This work will take place mostly in the unconscious parts of the mind while you remain in a state of calm and peace. The energies continue to work deeply into your system, recalibrating, reconfiguring, and transforming it over the days following a session.

A specific work on the distortions present in the energy field can allow the restoration of the psycho-physical balance and act as a preventive measure on the state of well-being.

What happens during a remote healing session

At the beginning of a phone or video call (via Zoom, WhatsApp, etc.) we will discuss your goals, concerns, and intentions. This helps align the energy and tailor the session.

Choose a quiet, undisturbed place where you can lie down or sit comfortably. Minimise distractions. During the session, remain still, close your eyes, and allow yourself to receive. You may feel warmth, tingling, emotions, or deep relaxation—these are normal, though some feel nothing at all.

Cameras are switched off during the session.

At the end of the session, you will be guided to slowly come back and open your eyes. We will then spend a few minutes talking about your experience.

IMPORTANT

The Importance of Self-Care

Self-care is an extremely important part of the healing process. Research shows that your commitment is the best indicator of your successful outcome.

As a healer and therapist, I do not medically diagnose or prescribe treatment. I do not offer psychic readings, channel messages or do anything else apart from being a channel for healing energy. I offer to serve as a facilitator in your self-initiated process of healing and transformation.

In the first 15 minutes of your first session, we may explore areas that influence your state of wellbeing, such as your life and health history, stressors, belief systems and attitudes, your family and childhood history, relationships, diet, exercise, dreams and longings.

Everything you share is confidential.
