Gokai – Usui Reiki Ryoho Principles

Gendai Reiki Ho is not a new Reiki system but a more practically structured method based on the original Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho that was founded in 1922. Gendai Reiki Ho is designed so that people in our stressful modern society can practice it more effectively and efficiently in order to pursue a peaceful and meaningful life.

“The secret for happiness (how to be happy)” teaches us that the ultimate goal of Reiki Ho is to be happy (heighten spirituality) and “the remedy for all illness (how to be healthy)” teaches us that the path to be healthy begins with the hand-placement Reiki treatment. In other words, Usui Reiki Ryoho is the way to be happy and healthy.

The Gokai was inspired by “Principles of Health” written by Dr. Bizan Suzuki in 1914. In this book, Dr. Suzuki said “just for today, do not anger, do not fear, be honest, work diligently, and be kind to others.”

Usui Sensei found this book during his training. He practiced Dr. Suzuki’s theory and confirmed that it was effective. Usui Sensei incorporated it and set it into the doctrine of the Gokai in hs own words when he established the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai.

The Gokai has his vibration for Anshin Ritsumei. Usui Sensei taught us to recite the Gokai in the morning and at night to instil them in our subconscious mind.
