How Reiki Energy Works
Life Force

Life force flows within the physical body though pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us and through us in a energy field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body.

The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. Negative thoughts, beliefs or feelings affect the life force and cause a disruption in the flow. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese healing art that was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 20th century. It is pronounced ray-key. The Japanese word reiki means universal energy. Eastern medicine systems work with this energy, which they believe flows through all living things and is vital to well being. The energy is known as ‘Ki‘ in Japan, ‘Chi‘ in China and ‘prana‘ in India. Reiki isn’t part of any type of religion or belief system.

Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

All healers use life force or Ki, and Reiki healers use Reiki which is a spiritually guided life force. This means that Reiki doesn’t have to be guided like other healing energies and it flows without having to enter an altered state. Because Reiki is guided by the God-consciousness, it can never do harm. It always knows what a person needs and will adjust itself to create the effect that is appropriate for them.

In a Reiki treatment, Reiki healing energy flows through the practitioner and the recipient. Therefore, both practitioner and recipient receive the Reiki treatment.

Reiki Benefits

One of the greatest Reiki healing health benefits is stress reduction and relaxation, which triggers the body’s natural healing abilities (immune system), aids in better sleep and improves and maintains health.

Reiki helps to relieve physical pain from migraine, arthritis, sciatica, asthma, chronic fatigue, menopausal symptoms, and insomnia.

Reiki offers relief during emotional distress and in the grieving process. Reiki cleans and clears the emotions, preventing them from being so draining and often offers perspective.

Reiki helps bring about inner peace and harmony, enhancing learning, memory and mental clarity. Reiki is a way of life and it can be a valuable tool in the quest for spiritual growth.

Reiki can heal mental/emotional wounds by strengthening and healing personal relationships. Because Reiki enhances the capability to love, it can open a person up to people and help relationships grow.

Reiki can support recovery from surgery or long-term illness. As it helps in adjusting to medicine/treatment, it also tends to reduce side-effects. For example, Chemo-therapy patients who received Reiki noticed a marked decrease in side effects from treatment.
