Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma London – What Is It?

The Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma Course takes place in-person in London, United Kingdom and runs every year, starting in October.

To work as an effective Professional Reiki Practitioner, we must be able to heal ourselves. Integral to this Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma course is a comprehensive self-healing and personal-growth programme. This course provides a safe container within which you are encouraged to explore inner experiences.

This one-year accredited Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma combines Japanese and western Reiki, metaphysical principles and esoteric traditions to provide an integrated perspective on wellbeing, health and healing.

The course is designed to empower Reiki students to develop through personal growth, self-development and reflection. It offers the potential for periods of pause to enable self-reflection and consists of different modules to facilitate the emotional and spiritual development of the student.

Those who complete the course will be competent to practice Reiki as an autonomous professional practitioners in all settings i.e. private practice, in organisations and care homes including NHS establishments.

How Long Does It Take To Become A Professional Reiki Practitioner?

The Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma Course runs in London, United Kingdom, for a total of 8 days (Saturdays & Sundays) from 9.30am-5.30 pm over a one-year period.

Is The Diploma Taught In Person or Online?

The Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma is taught in-person in London and also includes four group supervision online sessions. Gendai Reiki Shoden Level I (Reiki 1) and Gendai Reiki Ho Okuden Level II (Reiki 2) courses are taught in person and attunements are individual and face-to-face.

What Is The Structure of the Programme?

The Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma includes:

-The theory and practice of Reiki.

-Self-healing and self-growth.

-Coursework and case studies.

What Reiki courses are included in the Programme?

Gendai Reiki Ho Shoden Level I (Reiki 1) – 2 days

Gendai Reiki Ho Okuden Level II (Reiki 2) – days

What is covered in the other 4 days after Reiki 1 and Reiki 2?

-Advanced Reiki Workshop – 1 day

-Professional Reiki Practitioner Worlshop – 1 day

-Professional Reiki Practice Workshop – 1 day

-Reiki Practice Day

-The final assessment

What additional work is required after Reiki 1 and Reiki 2?

In addition to taking the Shoden (Reiki 1) and Okuden (Reiki 2) seminars, students will be required to complete a portfolio of work that demonstrates that they have achieved the level of knowledge and understanding and practical application of Reiki to meet these standards in a professional capacity. Students will need to complete modules on related topics to Reiki Practice which will be monitored and evaluated.

Coursework includes:

-40 Reiki treatments given to others

-10 x 4-session Reiki treatment case study

-100 self or received treatments recorded in a Self-Treatment Journal

-Home study of Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 manuals

-Written questionnaire with multiple questions

-Directed research on the internet and of recommended literature

-Ongoing self healing practice

-Reading as required

Is the Reiki Master course included in the programme?

The Reiki Master course is not included in the Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma course, however you can register for the Reiki Master class after completing the Practitioner Diploma.

What Qualifications Will I receive?

At the end of the Diploma course, usually in September every year, you will receive the following qualifications:

-The Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma Course certificate

Gendai Reiki Ho Shoden Level I (Reiki 1) Course certificate

Gendai Reiki Ho Okuden Level II (Reiki 2) Course certificate

Final Assessment

Once a student has completed all modules as well as the minimum number of case studies, they can register for the final assessment.

The assessment lasts approximately 2 hours and consists of a written test and a practical Reiki treatment given in front of 2 Reiki Master Teachers.

Are the Case Studies Supervised?

Case studies are not supervised. You need to record the work on a Case Study sheet (provided) and submit the paperwork once the work with your clients is complete.

Supervised work with clients has many benefits as it guides you in your work and provides you with feedback. If you need help and support in your work with your clients, bear in mind that 1-2-1 supervision sessions can be arranged for an additional fee.

Is the Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma Accredited?

This programme is accredited by the UK Reiki Federation for registration with the government funded Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

Can I Join The UK Reiki Federation With This Qualification?

In addition to registering with the CNHC and receiving the quality mark, qualified students can join the UK Reiki Federation as a Practitioner Members. Membership of the UK Reiki Federation provides the practitioner with many benefits, such as the use of the UK Reiki Federation member logo on stationary and website, being a voting member and many more.

What Qualification Do I Need To Join The UK Reiki Federation as a Master Practitioner or Master Teacher?

After completing Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 qualifications, you need to take the Reiki Master training. Please refer to the UK Reiki Federation website for further information.

What Can I Do With The Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma?

Qualified Reiki practitioners can work in professional environments where verification is required, such as the National Health Service (NHS), GP surgeries, professional bodies, and some private healthcare companies as being of a high standard and quality assured. GPs can refer their patients to professional practitioners on the CNHC register.

They can also set up a private Reiki practice and be self-employed.

What are the entry requirements

There are no entry requirements for the Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma Course.

Although a Reiki insurance is not an essential requirement to be on the course, it is strongly recommended that Reiki students purchase an insurance from a UK-based insurance broker before or shortly after the start of the course. If you are not resident in the UK, you may consider arranging your own healing insurance with a broker in your country of residence.

Is Previous Learning Accredited?

Students may decide to register for the Gendai Reiki Ho Shoden/Gendai Reiki Ho Okuden classes and register for the Diploma on a later date. Previous learning may be credited providing the content of the Reiki classes is equivalent to that of courses required for the Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma.

Courses for which transfer of credit is being sought should have been taken within 1 year from the time of application for the Diploma.
