Taking care of yourself means that you need a daily routine that includes exercise, meditation, a good healthy and balanced diet, personal hygiene, the right amount of rest and sleep, home pleasure, personal challenges, intimacy and friends.

You also need to have self-love and self-respect, maintaining a deep connection to yourself and your purpose in life, both on the personal and the world level. The foundation of your personal and spiritual health is your personal connection with the wonder and energy of life.

Listening to your inner guidance and following through on that guidance as soon as you feel there is an imbalance somewhere.

You need to be flexible as your personal needs will vary over the weeks and years. You can tune into your inner guidance and determine for yourself what regiment you need in different stages of your life.

Self-responsibility and self-discipline help you going through life challenges, bringing the power back home to the self.

7. Be Aware Of How Negativity Can Affect You

We live in a world made of energy. We are made of energy and therefore, we are connected to everything else around us. What happens in the whole, happens in the individual.

We could define a negative energy as a thought, a feeling or ‘something else‘, that makes us feel stuck or unable to break free. This is often associated with conscious or unconscious fear.

Perhaps we are generating these thoughts and feelings, as our fears have been triggered. Other times these belong to other people or places.

If we are feeling certain emotions or thoughts, they are highly likely within our energy field or even in our physical body.

So, what kind of negative energies can get stuck to our aura or body? What impact can they have on us? How do we know what is affecting us? What can we do about it?

9. Learn To ‘Let Go

We have different ways to deal with negative emotions: when we feel an emotion that we do not want, we have a tendency to either suppress it, repress it, express it, or escape it.

We assume that what happens is that we have a thought, and this then determines our feelings and physical responses. This is the intuitive way to imagine it.

However, in his book ‘Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender”, David Hawkins presents evidence that supports the opposite view, that our thoughts are often driven by how we are feeling.

This means that we cannot only focus on positive thinking and make the feelings go away. However, we can use our thoughts to challenge those feelings, and slowly teach our body not to produce them.

The ‘Letting Go Techniquethat can be used anytime, anywhere to skilfully process emotions and lead us toward higher, lighter, freer stages of human development.

10. Practice Gratitude (& Keep a Journal)

It’s no secret that showing gratitude is good for you. As well as being backed by science, leaders such as the Dalai Lama are also big fans, so it’s no wonder that more of us are taking the time to be thankful for what we have in our lives.

On a general scale, gratitude can be thought of as a mental state of mind: you are consciously grateful for things and people in your life. Gratitude can also be thought of as small acts of acknowledging what and for whom you’re grateful, such as calling up your best friend and telling them how much they mean to you. It’s an act of expressing your gratitude that many may resonate with.

Journaling has been proven to improve your well-being; making a point of jotting down all the things that you are grateful for can take the experience to a whole new level. Keeping a gratitude journal is easy and on the simplest level it involves making a note of the things that you are grateful for that day.
